Annual Giving Programs


 


The Southwest Fund, Southwest Minnesota State University's Annual Fund, exists to foster relationships with diverse university constituencies and to maximize annual revenues through increased and enhanced participation by alumni, businesses, faculty and staff, friends and parents. SMSU's Annual Giving effort works to assist SMSU academic and co-curricular departments in meeting their needs while striving to increase overall gift support for the University over the long term. Through The Southwest Fund new major gift prospects can be identified for the future growth of SMSU.

The Southwest Fund is designed to seek gifts paid in full during the fiscal year (July 1 to June 30). Most gifts to the Southwest Fund are unrestricted and can be used where the need of the University is the greatest. Other gifts can be designated for a specific department or program.


Combined, all gifts to the Southwest Fund create one of the largest annual gifts to SMSU, totaling over $175,000.
