“Our life story is filled with opportunities that were made available to us by
the generosity of others. By establishing The Sanders Family Scholarship we are making available opportunities for students. It is gratifying to receive letters from students who have been awarded scholarships from our endowment. Our family scholarship is one of many at the university. We encourage others to establish a scholarship to assist students who are obtaining an education.”
Their relationship with Southwest Minnesota State University began before a single brick was put in place. The couple’s commitment and unwavering support of the University has remained a constant ever since. Tom and Linda Sanders have been a part of the Marshall business community in several capacities but their ownership of Material Distributors Incorporated gave them the opportunity to work together for 30 years and to support SMSU by establishing The Sanders Family Scholarship.
